A bespoke project with a challenge – to design very large trapezoidal smoke vents that opened on a 45-degree angle enabling fresh air intake for the forced smoke ventilation system. The cladding sheets also needed to match the rest of the building envelope.

Robertson Thermovent successfully manufactured, installed, tested and commissioned smoke vents with titanium cladding sheets to complement the architectural image of the building. The weight of the titanium sheets had to be carried by custom designed gas struts each powered to 3000N at multiple positions on the hinged ventilator.
